What do I need to run ezShop?
Any PC running Windows 95 or later should be able to run ezShop. Any Macintosh running MacOS 7.6.1 or later. Download the PC or Mac demonstration shops and try it.

How is ezShop different from the free shopping cart offered by my ISP?
Gumboot ezShop is more than just a shopping cart. It offers sophisticated layout, taxation, freight, inventory management functions. And what's more, its really easy to use!

What about security, how secure is ezShop?

Yes this is true. To address this ezShop has an optional postal/facsimile order form which the customer prints, completes and sends via fax or postal service.

Do I need my own website?
No you don't, although the image portrayed by a professionally designed website is invaluable when trying to attract customers. If you don't have a website, contact us at Gumboot.com for a free quote.

Is there a limit on the number of products I can have in my ezShop?
No. Although there are different pricing brackets for the number of products that you are selling. See below for a pricing breakdown (all prices listed are in New Zealand Dollars (NZD) and are GST exclusive).

How do I pay my ezShop subscription and how often?
Payments are for a 60 day subscription period and are paid in advance. When you activate your ezShop you can choose the payment method- credit card charged automatically at the beginning of the subscription period, or payment by cheque (New Zealand residents only- please allow for delays in postage and 7 days for the funds to clear).

Do I own my ezShop?
Gumboot ezShop is a subscription based service. The benefit of this to you is that you don't outlay thousands of dollars building a custom online shopping solution. You get a professional solution for just a fraction of what it would take to build your own, but more importantly, through your subscription you benefit from ongoing enhancements to the ezShop system.

Does ezShop accommodate sales tax?
Yes. Gumboot ezShop lets you set tax rates for all products or selected products as well as freight. In addition it allows nonresidents to deduct sales tax when it is not applicable due to taxation residential laws.

How do I know when I have new orders?
You can check the status of your shop whenever you like through your Control Panel. In addition you can tell ezShop to email you everytime a new order is received.

How do I learn how to setup and manage my shop?

How do I display my own shop logo?
Upload your logo to your website. Next enter the logo's URL into the Shop Logo URL field under Options in the ezShop Control Panel. See the ezShop tutorial for more information.

How big can my product images be?
You can use any sized images you want, however ezShop has been designed with particular image sizes in mind in order to promote a clean and professional layout. For product images limit the size to around 280x280 pixels. Similarly thumbnail images should be around 115x115 pixels in size.

Administration Questions

How long are orders maintained by ezShop?
Orders are removed from ezShop after 90 days.

How can I change my password?
Use the ezShop Control Panel to change your password.

Can I suspend my ezShop subscription?
Yes, you can suspend your subscription for up to one subscription period (60 days). To achieve this please put in a support call.

Advanced Questions

Can I use my own HTML in my ezShop?
Yes you can integrate your own HTML into your ezShop by embedding it in the information you supply eg. Shop Front Message, Page Footer, product descriptions. However, if you do supply your own HTML we can't offer support with problems relating to layout as it is possible to prevent ezShop from functioning at all by embedding the wrong HTML codes.
